Claire Dowling named Royal and Ancient's first female captain

Claire Dowling has been appointed as the Royal and Ancient Golf Club's first female captain, beginning her term in September 2026.

Dowling will serve as the St Andrews institution's captain in 2026-27, nominated by past captains. Her one-year term begins on September 25 after the driving-in ceremony.

A former Curtis Cup player and GB&I captain, Dowling is a decorated amateur with five Irish Championships and multiple Open championship refereeing roles. amunra-opinie.pl
