Guttormsen cleared 5.25 on his first attempt, needed three tries for 5.45, but cleared 5.60 on his first attempt. He had three failed attempts at 5.72. Karalis won the competition with 5.82 and also cleared 6.00. In the women's pole vault, Lene Retzius finished fifth and Kitty Friele Faye sixth with 4.40 meters, while Imogen Ayris from New Zealand won with 4.81.
